Our Aim
At Bandhu Purulia, our primary goal is to create a just, inclusive, and empowered society where every individual—especially those with disabilities—has equal opportunities, rights, and access to resources. Our aims align with national mandates like the N.T. Act 1999 and the P.W.T. Act 1995, and focus on both individual upliftment and community transformation.
Inclusive Education & Social Services
- To acquire, establish, and run special schools, primary schools, vocational training centers, libraries, old age homes, crèches, and charitable hospitals for public benefit.
- To run community-based educational groups focused on the philosophy of learning-through-play for children with physical and intellectual disabilities.
- To support early literacy initiatives, especially through mother tongues of Scheduled Tribes, enhancing accessibility for marginalized communities.
Empowerment of People with Disabilities (PWDs)
- To promote the principles of equality and inter-cultural exchange for physically challenged persons, especially those with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation, and Multiple Disabilities.
- To promote awareness and sensitization regarding the N.T. Act 1999 and rights of PWDs.
- To forestall issues affecting PWDs through early action, planning, and policy engagement.
- To implement government schemes and initiatives that benefit the four identified categories of disabilities.
Women & Girl Child Empowerment
- To promote the empowerment of girls and women as individuals with full rights and agency.
- To work towards the prevention of early child marriage through advocacy and education.
- To act in accordance with the Domestic Violence Act 2005, providing protection and support where needed.
Cultural, Social & Academic Development
- To organize lectures, debates, seminars, and discussions for knowledge sharing and community enrichment.
- To study, promote, and demonstrate traditional arts such as music and dance as tools of therapy and cultural continuity.
- To publish magazines, literature, and educational resources to prevent atrocities against Scheduled Castes, Tribes, and PWDs.
Community Upliftment & Awareness
- To promote awareness among backward communities and encourage their participation in socialization and development.
- To help men and women improve their livelihoods, health, and social well-being.
- To assist students from all communities, with special focus on the physically challenged, in the advancement of their education.
- To establish liaison with local leaders, panchayat representatives, government officers, NGOs, and families of people with disabilities.
- To form and register Parents Associations under the N.T. for stronger representation and support networks.
Role of LIC (Local Implementation Committee)
- To ensure that PWDs access all government schemes and benefits that are available to the general population.
- To monitor and implement LIC responsibilities to bridge the gap between policy and grassroots action.
